Interlibrary Loan

Interlibrary Loan (ILL) can help you access library materials that the EOU Library doesn’t own or have access to, including books, journal articles, newspaper and magazine articles, and other items. Interlibrary Loan services are available to EOU students, faculty, and staff free of charge. On rare occasions, requests for rare materials may require fees, but you will be notified, and no fees will be incurred without your approval.

Community Patrons can utilize Interlibrary Loan services for a fee of $15 per request. Community Patrons must use the Community Patron ILL Request Form to make requests.

Articles

To find out if EOU has full-text access to an article, you can search in our Primo system. Follow the instructions outlined in our How Do I Find an Article help page.

If you are sure EOU doesn’t have the article, use the Article Request button above to place the request.

Article Requests usually take 1-3 business days, but always allow as much time as possible. Article requests are fulfilled with digital copies. You will receive an email with the article attached.

Books

Most books can be requested either from the EOU Library or through Summit libraries. View our Request Materials page for information on requesting books from EOU and Summit libraries. If the book is not available from EOU or Summit, then use the Request Book button at the top of the page to request the item.

Books requested from WorldCat often take 7-10 to arrive at the EOU Library. Always allow as much time as possible.

Conditions of use depend on the lending library’s policies. Loan time may vary, and renewals may or may not be allowed. Lending libraries may also place other restrictions, such as requiring that materials be used within the library or that photocopying is not permitted.

To request a renewal for an ILL WorldCat item, contact the Interlibrary Loan department by phone or using the form below at least four days before the due date. Be sure to include your full name and the title of the item you wish to renew.
