Library Promotion
Improve the promotion of library resources and services while actively engaging the campus community.
- Objective 1: Develop a library promotion strategy with a comprehensive outreach plan featuring targeted promotions for various user groups through communication methods, website content, flyers, and campus events.
- Objective 2: Improve discoverability, online instructional content, and research support on the website.
- Objective 3: Evaluate effectiveness and refine promotional strategy as needed.
Digital Accessibility
Advance digital accessibility for the Library and Learning Innovation by developing short and long-term goals for design, procurement, and remediation.
- Objective 1: Develop a digital accessibility plan by end of AY25
- Objective 2: Implement digital accessibility plan by end of Winter 2026
- Objective 3: Assess digital accessibility plan as part of Library’s continuous improvement process by end of AY26
Library Space
Transform the library into a dynamic, inclusive space for learning and engagement.
Enhance the library’s physical space considering data, user feedback, and best practices.
- Objective 1: Analyze and leverage our baseline data to determine how our spaces are being used. This includes planning for physical improvements and technology. (Note: Baseline data = Student Advisory Committee, Student and Faculty Survey, Gate Count, Patron Count, etc.)
- Objective 2: Define the scope, budget, timeframe, and areas of responsibility to meet students’ needs around physical space transformation.
- Objective 3: Ensure ADA compliance by incorporating inclusive design and providing clear signage.
Library and Learning Innovation Data
Create an efficient and standardized continuous improvement process that contributes to strategic decision-making and demonstrates Library & Learning Innovation impact.
- Objective 1: Analyze current data collection practices and key data sources to identify gaps and standardize a framework for data collection, storage, and reporting.
- Objective 2: Establish a process for regular reporting of data and training for staff to understand how the data is being used.
- Objective 3: Use collected data consistently to support strategic decision-making and communicate impact for both the Library & Learning Innovation to the campus community.
AI and the Library and Learning Innovation
Define the Library & Learning Innovation’s role in supporting faculty and students in navigating AI use for teaching and learning.
- Objective 1: Align our understanding of capabilities, constraints, and concerns about AI tools (ongoing).
- Objective 2: Articulate a collective philosophy about values regarding the use of AI and the Library’s objectives for AI use and support.
- Objective 3: Develop guidelines and strategies for transparency, ethics education, acceptable use, and attribution when using AI tools.
