
{"id":1760,"date":"2025-06-02T01:26:23","date_gmt":"2025-06-02T01:26:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/library.eou.edu\/?page_id=1760"},"modified":"2025-06-02T01:27:13","modified_gmt":"2025-06-02T01:27:13","slug":"2024-26-strategic-goals","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/library.eou.edu\/index.php\/2024-26-strategic-goals\/","title":{"rendered":"2024-26 Strategic Goals"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Library Promotion<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Improve the promotion of library resources and services while actively engaging the campus community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Objective 1:<\/strong> Develop a library promotion strategy with a comprehensive outreach plan featuring targeted promotions for various user groups through communication methods, website content, flyers, and campus events.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Objective 2:<\/strong> Improve discoverability, online instructional content, and research support on the website.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Objective 3:<\/strong> Evaluate effectiveness and refine promotional strategy as needed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Digital Accessibility<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Advance digital accessibility for the Library and Learning Innovation by developing short and long-term goals for design, procurement, and remediation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Objective 1: <\/strong>Develop a digital accessibility plan by end of AY25<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Objective 2:<\/strong> Implement digital accessibility plan by end of Winter 2026<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Objective 3:<\/strong> Assess digital accessibility plan as part of Library\u2019s continuous improvement process by end of AY26<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Library Space<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Transform the library into a dynamic, inclusive space for learning and engagement.<br>Enhance the library\u2019s physical space considering data, user feedback, and best practices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Objective 1:<\/strong> Analyze and leverage our baseline data to determine how our spaces are being used. This includes planning for physical improvements and technology. (Note: Baseline data = Student Advisory Committee, Student and Faculty Survey, Gate Count, Patron Count, etc.)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Objective 2:<\/strong> Define the scope, budget, timeframe, and areas of responsibility to meet students&#8217; needs around physical space transformation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Objective 3:<\/strong> Ensure ADA compliance by incorporating inclusive design and providing clear signage.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Library and Learning Innovation Data<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Create an efficient and standardized continuous improvement process that contributes to strategic decision-making and demonstrates Library &amp; Learning Innovation impact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Objective 1: <\/strong>Analyze current data collection practices and key data sources to identify gaps and standardize a framework for data collection, storage, and reporting.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Objective 2:<\/strong> Establish a process for regular reporting of data and training for staff to understand how the data is being used.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Objective 3:<\/strong> Use collected data consistently to support strategic decision-making and communicate impact for both the Library &amp; Learning Innovation to the campus community.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">AI and the Library and Learning Innovation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Define the Library &amp; Learning Innovation\u2019s role in supporting faculty and students in navigating AI use for teaching and learning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Objective 1:<\/strong> Align our understanding of capabilities, constraints, and concerns about AI tools (ongoing).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Objective 2:<\/strong> Articulate a collective philosophy about values regarding the use of AI and the Library\u2019s objectives for AI use and support.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Objective 3:<\/strong> Develop guidelines and strategies for transparency, ethics education, acceptable use, and attribution when using AI tools.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Library Promotion Improve the promotion of library resources and services while actively engaging the campus community.
