Abstract The interviews with Edith Scott took place at her home in La Grande. At age 95, Edith is lively and remarkably active physically, though macular degeneration impairs her focal vision.

The interviewer was Eugene Smith, volunteer director of the Union County, Oregon History Project. He completed two one-hour interviews on March 13 amd April 23, 2003.
